Registered Nurse - PCU Observation Nights

About the role

AdventHealth in Apopka, Florida is hiring a full-time Registered Nurse for its PCU observation unit, working nights from 7:00 pm to 7:00 am. The schedule is 36 hours per week. Eligible clinicians can earn salary increases of up to 20% through a voluntary Clinical Ladder Program.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' physiological, psychological, developmental, sociocultural, spiritual and lifestyle factors.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans, reviewing and revising them regularly.
• Administer medications and treatments accurately and safely, following physician orders and hospital protocols, and monitor for adverse reactions.
• Educate patients and families about their conditions, treatments, medications and self-care strategies.

Required profile

• Associate of Science degree in Nursing (ASN); a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is preferred.
• Current Florida or multistate Registered Nurse license.
• At least six months of previous Registered Nurse experience; one year of acute care hospital experience in a Progressive Care Unit is preferred.
• Fluent English (reading, speaking and writing).
• Ability to use a high level of abstract reasoning to assess patients, evaluate interventions and revise the plan of care.

Required skills

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• Knowledge of nursing care methods and procedures.
