Registered Nurse – Operating Room

About the role

We are seeking a full‑time Registered Nurse to join the Operating Room team at Methodist Hospital. The role involves delivering patient‑ and family‑centered care, developing individualized nursing plans, and supporting surgical procedures during a 40‑hour work week.

Key responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care in the operating room, integrating evidence‑based practice and clinical expertise.
• Develop and update nursing care plans in collaboration with patients and their designated care partners.
• Educate patients and families about peri‑operative care, ensuring information is clear and culturally sensitive.
• Utilize information‑technology systems to document care, monitor outcomes, and support safe decision‑making.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, fostering open communication and shared decision‑making.
• Participate in safety, quality‑improvement committees and act as a preceptor for new staff.
• Maintain a safe environment by following established nursing protocols and minimizing risk of harm.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse with a specialized diploma in peri‑operative nursing or related field.
• Commitment to patient‑ and family‑centered care and cultural competence.
• Ability to work full‑time day shifts (40 hours per week) in an onsite hospital setting.
• Strong communication, problem‑solving and conflict‑resolution skills.
