About the role

Finger Lakes Community Health (FLCH), a Federally Qualified Health Center serving over 28,000 patients across eight health centers, is hiring a Registered Nurse for its Geneva Community Health site. The RN manages nursing care for patients, develops care plans, educates patients and oversees the daily running of the medical clinical area and patient communication in the electronic health record. Travel is expected as needed for other location coverage.

Key responsibilities

• Clinical floor oversight: prepare the clinical area for opening and closing, direct nursing team tasks for efficient patient flow, complete medication reconciliation and teach staff on equipment use and maintenance
• Clinical services: assist with minor procedures and exams, perform screenings and assessments, complete phlebotomy and lab collection, confirm written orders, administer injections and immunizations, review medication refill requests and inform patients of care changes and test results
• Care management: attend morning huddles, follow up on specific patient populations, oversee referrals, educate patients and families, promote patient independence and act as liaison between patient and provider
• Medical record maintenance: chart services such as referrals, medications, vaccinations, screenings, lab orders and results, audit progress notes, and enter telephone encounters and referrals in the electronic health record

Required profile

• Current, unrestricted NYS Registered Nurse license
• 1-3 years of experience working in a licensed setting
• CPR certification (can be provided)
• Able to work flexible hours, including some evenings
• Valid government-issued photo ID
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs, sit for long periods, kneel, crawl or bend into awkward spaces, and OSHA Level 1
