Registered Nurse - Heart and Vascular Clinic

About the role

UChicago Medicine AdventHealth is hiring a full-time Registered Nurse for its Heart and Vascular Clinic at 908 N. Elm Street, Suite 404, Hinsdale, Illinois. The schedule is Monday through Thursday 8:30 am to 5 pm and Friday 8 am to 4 pm, with flexibility to start earlier or stay later depending on clinic needs. Travel to other clinics may be required.

Key responsibilities

• Assist patients in preparing for exams and collect specimens promptly.
• Prepare equipment and assist physicians during treatments and exams.
• Perform general nursing activities to ensure quality care and efficient patient flow.
• Oversee appointment scheduling, prioritizing emergency situations.
• Escort patients to exam rooms within 15 minutes of arrival.
• Provide phone triage, give test results to patients and refill prescriptions.
• Perform cardiac device interrogations.

Required profile

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with an Associate's degree (required); a Bachelor's degree is preferred.
• Registered Nurse (RN) license (required).
• Basic Life Support (CPR) certification (required).
• 1+ year of professional nursing experience; physician office experience preferred.
• 5+ years of RN experience in an ICU, ER, CCU or cardiology setting preferred.
