Registered Nurse – Full-Time Days

About the role

We are seeking a full‑time Registered Nurse to join Kindred Hospital’s 99‑bed long‑term acute care facility in the San Francisco Bay Area. The RN will provide direct and indirect patient care during day shifts, collaborating with physicians and the interdisciplinary team to support extended recovery for our patients.

Key responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive admission assessments and ongoing reassessments, documenting findings in the patient’s medical record.
• Develop, implement, and regularly update individualized nursing care plans in coordination with patients, families, and the care team.
• Administer medications safely using the five rights and monitor patient response.
• Assess and manage pain, providing education on pain‑management techniques.
• Communicate changes in clinical condition to physicians, nursing supervisors, and other staff.
• Assist physicians with examinations, treatments, and procedures within scope of practice.
• Participate in discharge planning and make referrals to other disciplines as needed.
• Supervise and delegate tasks to nursing assistants and support staff, ensuring appropriate skill‑mix and patient safety.

Required profile

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• Experience in acute or long‑term acute care settings preferred.
• Strong assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation skills.
• Ability to document accurately and maintain compliance with hospital policies.
• Effective communication with physicians, patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
