Registered Nurse - Emergency Department, Night Shift

About the role

AdventHealth is hiring a full-time Registered Nurse for its Emergency Department in Winter Garden, Florida, working night shifts. The role covers the core nursing duties of assessing patients, planning care and coordinating with the wider healthcare team. Eligible clinicians can earn salary increases of up to 20% through a voluntary Clinical Ladder Program, and there is a sign-on bonus of up to $10,000 for full-time night shift.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive clinical assessments of patients' physical, mental and emotional health.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans based on assessment findings and patient needs.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary care by collaborating with physicians, nurses, social workers and therapists.
• Monitor patient progress and adjust care plans as needed.
• Communicate clearly with patients, families and the healthcare team.
• Document assessments, care plans, interventions and outcomes accurately in the patient's medical record.

Required profile

• Associate's degree in Nursing (ADN).
• Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• 1+ year of acute hospital experience.
• 1+ year of lead EKG experience.
• Ability to work in close proximity to others and in a distracting environment, and fluent English (spoken and written).
• Commitment to purposeful hourly visits and established consumer experience strategies.
• Internship or preceptorship depending on nursing experience; most employees need at least 12 months after orientation to reach proficiency.

Required skills

• High-level abstract reasoning to assess patients, evaluate interventions and revise the plan of care.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) / CPR certification.
• Emergency department unit-specific competencies met per the orientation pathway.
