About the role

The State of Georgia’s Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities is seeking a Registered Nurse to join the West Central Georgia Regional Hospital in Columbus. This position provides direct nursing care to a diverse patient population, supporting health maintenance, disease prevention, and case management under supervision.

Key responsibilities

• Assess client health problems and needs.
• Develop and implement individualized nursing care plans.
• Maintain accurate medical records.
• Administer nursing care to ill, injured, convalescent, or disabled patients.
• Provide health education and disease‑prevention guidance.
• Participate in case management activities as required.

Required profile

• Associate degree in nursing from an accredited institution.
• Current Georgia license as a Registered Professional Nurse (or multistate license).
• Or one year of experience at the lower level Registered Nurse 1 (HCP070) or equivalent.
• Ability to meet state‑required background checks, drug screening, TB evaluation, and vaccinations.
