Registered Nurse – BHSL Women’s Inpatient Unit (Day Shift)

About the role

The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Behavioral Health Service Line Women’s Inpatient Unit. This full‑time day‑shift position provides direct patient care within a multidisciplinary team and supports the unit’s clinical standards.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver nursing care in accordance with the Arkansas Nurse Practice Act and UAMS policies.
• Collect and document patient assessments, develop and implement individualized Plans of Care, and evaluate patient progress.
• Administer medications, provide patient/family education, and coordinate discharge planning.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members, delegate tasks appropriately, and serve as a resource for student nurses.
• Complete conflict‑management training within six months of hire to handle disruptive behaviors.

Required profile

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN, diploma, BSN, or MSN).
• Minimum one year of RN experience; two or more years preferred.
• Current, valid Arkansas RN license.
• Excellent communication, strong work ethic, and accountability.

Required skills

• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Basic computer skills for documentation and electronic health record use.
