Registered Nurse – Ambulatory Surgery

About the role

The Veterans Health Administration is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide direct patient care in an ambulatory surgery setting. This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), offering loan repayment assistance for qualified candidates.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver high‑quality nursing care to patients undergoing outpatient surgical procedures.
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and support staff to ensure safe and efficient patient flow.
• Maintain accurate patient records and adhere to VHA policies and protocols.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and patient education.

Required profile

• Proficiency in written and spoken English as required by 38 U.S.C. 7403(f).
• Graduate of an ACEN‑ or CCNE‑accredited nursing program, or equivalent master’s bridge program.
• Current, full, active, and unrestricted RN licensure in a U.S. state, territory, or the District of Columbia.
• Eligibility for the Education Debt Reduction Program, meeting VHA criteria and application deadlines.
