Registered Nurse – Acute Medical Stepdown (Night Shift)

About the role

This position leads patient care on the Acute Medical Stepdown unit, applying the nursing process within the Nurse Practice Act, ANA Code, and Scope & Standards of Practice. The RN delegates, directs, and assists team members while ensuring quality outcomes and cultural sensitivity. The role supports Ochsner Health’s strategic goals and professional nursing standards.

Key responsibilities

• Performs other related duties as required.

Required profile

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing (required).
• Bachelor’s degree in nursing (preferred).
• No prior work experience required.
• Current registered nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
• Certification in a clinical specialty area (preferred).
