Registered Nurse 2 – Rheumatology Clinical Support

About the role

The University of Miami/UHealth Department of Medicine seeks a full‑time Registered Nurse 2 to provide day‑to‑day clinical nursing support for the Rheumatology division. The RN will manage telephone triage, InBasket coordination, medication and infusion support, and clinical escalations.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and prioritize Rheumatology clinical InBasket work, including patient calls, advice requests, results, refill requests and provider‑directed messages.
• Perform telephone and electronic triage, recognize urgent symptoms and escalate to physicians, APRNs or emergency services as needed.
• Coordinate medication refills, specialty medication documentation, prior‑authorizations, appeals and denials.
• Support infusion therapy by reviewing lab tests, handling order issues and communicating with infusion teams.
• Document nursing assessments, interventions and resolutions in the patient’s medical record.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant nursing experience.
• Valid State of Florida RN license.
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association.

Required skills

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and other computer software.
