Regional EHS Specialist

About the role

Sandvik Mining is seeking a proactive Regional EHS Specialist to lead environmental, health, and safety initiatives at its Elko, NV facility. This hybrid position combines office work with on‑site engagement to ensure a safe, compliant, and continuously improving workplace.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and communicate a clear EHS vision aligned with ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 standards.
• Integrate EHS objectives into yearly site plans and monitor execution.
• Recommend improvements to EHS practices, operational processes, and workplace design.
• Review hazard reports, conduct incident investigations, and analyze workers’ compensation outcomes.
• Support implementation of Sandvik Global EHS Standards and regulatory requirements.
• Design and deliver training programs on site safety, fire prevention, chemical handling, and waste management.

Required profile

• Team‑oriented professional with experience managing EHS programs in an industrial or mining environment.
• Ability to work collaboratively with managers, employees, and external representatives.
• Strong analytical skills for hazard assessment and incident analysis.
• Willingness to work on‑site in Elko and support broader US operations.
