Regional AIP Program Director

About the role

The Regional AIP Program Director leads complex emergency preparedness planning for the Texas Division of Emergency Management. This position enhances the capability of federal, state and local partners to mitigate, respond to, and recover from a wide range of hazards.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, coordinate, and maintain comprehensive emergency management plans and preparedness projects.
• Serve as liaison to government agencies, community organizations, and the public to explain program requirements.
• Conduct workshops, training sessions, public awareness activities, and seminars.
• Monitor compliance with policies, statutes, and procedures; prepare administrative and research reports.
• Analyze operations, produce recommendations, and oversee program budgets and performance metrics.
• Collect, organize, and analyze data for program reporting and strategic planning.

Required profile

• Must hold or be eligible for a U.S. Department of Energy Q clearance.
• Willingness to work after‑hours, weekends, and deploy for extended periods during emergencies.
• Ability to operate in field, DDEOC, or State Operations Center with minimal rest.
• Moderate supervision with latitude for independent judgment.
