Recreation Sports Instructor (PTNB) – Part‑Time

About the role

Under the general supervision of the Recreation Coordinator, you will organize, supervise, and instruct a variety of sports programs for children and adults, with a current focus on pickleball. This part‑time position offers the chance to engage the community, promote active lifestyles, and ensure a safe, enjoyable environment for all participants.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, set up, and lead scheduled sports sessions, including instruction on rules, techniques, and safety.
• Maintain and care for sports equipment, facilities, and program materials.
• Monitor participants for safety, administer first aid/CPR when needed, and enforce program policies.
• Communicate effectively with participants, parents, and colleagues, providing updates and addressing concerns.
• Record attendance, track equipment usage, and prepare brief reports for the Recreation Coordinator.
• Promote a positive, inclusive atmosphere that encourages skill development and enjoyment.

Required profile

• Minimum 18 years of age.
• Some experience working with children and/or adults in a sports or recreational setting.
• Strong knowledge of games and sports, especially pickleball.
• Proficient English communication, both spoken and written.
• Certified in first aid and CPR.
• Ability to make sound decisions affecting participant safety and program quality.

Required skills

• First‑aid and CPR certification.
• Operation of program equipment, copy machines, telephone, and basic computer use.
