Receiving & Distribution Manager

About the role

The State of Georgia is seeking a Receiving & Distribution Manager to oversee material handling, inventory control, and shipping operations for the SGTC campus in Americus. This full‑time position ensures accurate receipt, storage, and distribution of supplies while maintaining compliance with state auditing standards.

Key responsibilities

• Receive and unload all materials ordered by SGTC, reconcile invoices, and enter data into the GA@Work Accounting System.
• Assign inventory numbers, label items, and deliver materials to departments across both campuses.
• Operate delivery vehicles safely and maintain records for auditing purposes.
• Ship outgoing packages, keep a log of shipments, and prepare purchase orders for billing.
• Maintain up‑to‑date inventory records, conduct annual physical counts, and perform quarterly sample audits.
• Manage surplus property disposition through the State of Georgia surplus system.
• Supervise part‑time shipping, receiving, and inventory technicians.
• Hold a GA Purchasing Card and perform related reconciliations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) plus three years of related work experience.
• Ability to pass a credit check.
• Strong supervisory and decision‑making abilities.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
