Reactor Operations Enablement Engineer

About the role

Radiant is seeking a Reactor Operations Enablement Engineer to create and maintain training resources that enable safe, scalable operation of its portable nuclear micro‑reactors. The role works closely with operators, engineers and test teams to translate evolving system knowledge into clear, actionable documentation.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and continuously refine Reactor Operator training materials, including manuals, learning objectives, lesson plans, operating procedures, and evaluation tools.
• Maintain records of operator qualification in accordance with DOE/NRC standards.
• Translate evolving reactor designs and operational concepts into clear, concise training content.
• Embed with engineering, test, and operations teams to capture real‑time technical insights and incorporate lessons learned into documentation.
• Establish and maintain documentation standards, templates, and style guides suitable for a fast‑paced startup.
• Manage document lifecycles within configuration‑controlled systems, handling version control, change tracking, and rapid updates.
• Balance speed and rigor to ensure documentation meets both rapid development needs and regulatory expectations.
• Support the creation of regulatory documents such as white papers and topical reports.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Physics, Technical Communication, or a related technical discipline.
• At least 2 years of technical writing experience in a complex, engineering‑driven environment (e.g., nuclear, aerospace, energy).
• Direct experience with nuclear systems, reactor operations, or operator training programs.
• Ability to work closely with operators, engineers, and test teams to capture and convey technical knowledge.
