Raspberry & Blackberry Forecast Specialist

About the role

The RUBUS Forecast Specialist is responsible for delivering accurate short‑term and long‑term production forecasts for raspberry and blackberry crops within the Santa Maria district. Working closely with production, agronomy, growers, sales and planning teams, the specialist ensures transparent data‑driven decisions that support seasonal supply commitments.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and consolidate daily to year‑end forecasts using Excel models, SQL servers, Tableau dashboards, growing degree days, phenological tagging and historical data.
• Collaborate with the supply manager to adjust long‑range budgets and run scenario modeling.
• Partner with production and supply managers to develop the annual district supply plan and communicate changes to sales, growers and business managers.
• Review and communicate regional plan variances, validating model accuracy at the grower level.
• Develop, update and maintain production curves for strategic modeling tools through field visits and grower communication.
• Maintain weekly relationships with growers to discuss plant development, pest impacts, micro‑climate effects and forecast expectations.
• Prepare and present forecast information to growers and internal stakeholders via presentations and meetings.

Required profile

• 0‑3 years of experience in forecasting, supply planning or related agricultural roles.
• Ability to work collaboratively with cross‑functional teams and external growers.
• Strong analytical mindset and attention to detail.
