Rail Key Account Manager – US & Canada

About the role

3M is seeking a USAC Rail Key Account Manager to drive sales and product specifications for rail operators and OEMs across the United States and Canada. The role focuses on building strong relationships at all organizational levels and delivering growth through strategic account planning.

Key responsibilities

• Develop deep relationships with key stakeholders at rail OEMs and operators.
• Perform detailed account mapping, including vendors for MRO, leasing, and infrastructure.
• Gather and analyze customer insights to shape product road‑maps.
• Lead executive‑level engagements and coordinate 3M executive visits.
• Win and drive 3M product specifications across USAC rail accounts.
• Track sales, opportunities, and demand; provide monthly forecasts.
• Organize workshops, tech days, and other collaboration events.
• Support vertical product teams with market feedback and new‑product ideas.
• Leverage application engineers and quality teams to solve complex rail challenges.
• Share best practices with commercial teams and align with rail vertical leadership on sales objectives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree (completed and verified prior to start).
• Minimum five years of sales or key‑account experience in private, public, government or military environments.
• At least two years working with government or semi‑government agencies.
• Two years of experience creating annual account growth plans and using Salesforce.
