Quality Technician (rotating shifts)

About the role

Join 3M’s innovative team as a Quality Technician working rotating shifts in Cottage Grove, MN. You will support manufacturing and R&D efforts by ensuring product and raw‑material quality through rigorous testing and data analysis.

Key responsibilities

• Test and disposition manufactured products and raw materials using a variety of analytical techniques.
• Calibrate analytical instrumentation and other laboratory equipment.
• Assist R&D teams by executing and evaluating new test methods.
• Report quality data and collaborate with onsite teams to act on findings.
• Work a rotating schedule that includes overnight shifts.

Required profile

• High school diploma/GED (or higher) completed and verified prior to start.
• Three (3) years of combined experience in a laboratory, pilot plant, or manufacturing environment (private, public, government, or military).
• Preferably an associate degree or higher in chemistry, physics, biology, or related fields.
• One year of experience in a quality control laboratory, preferably in an ISO 9001 or IATF 16949‑certified facility.

Required skills

• Experience with chromatography, molecular spectroscopy, and titrations.
• Ability to calibrate analytical instrumentation.
• Proficiency in data reporting and analysis systems used in laboratory settings.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365 applications, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams.
