Quality & Reliability Systems Engineer (E3)

About the role

Applied Materials is seeking a Quality & Reliability Systems Engineer (E3) to develop and maintain quality and reliability standards for semiconductor and display equipment. The role involves designing test methods, performing failure analysis, and supporting suppliers to ensure world‑class product performance.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, apply, revise, and test quality/reliability standards aligned with customer expectations.
• Design and implement inspection, testing, and evaluation procedures for products.
• Create and execute quality/reliability test plans, including failure analysis.
• Perform FMECA, document CRAMS, and coordinate PQP testing with suppliers.
• Conduct reliability modeling and ERAMS, gathering operational data for analysis.
• Prepare testing documentation and develop project methodologies and proposals.
• Evaluate work methods and policies to ensure attainable world‑class quality standards.
• Coach, mentor, and train teams on quality and reliability processes.

• Expanded conceptual knowledge in the discipline with a broadening of capabilities.
• Understanding of key business drivers and ability to apply them to daily work.
• Informal guidance to new team members without formal supervisory responsibilities.
• Problem‑solving skills for straightforward situations using technical experience and judgment.
