Quality Operations Manager

About the role

The Quality Operations Manager ensures that all manufacturing and operational processes meet stringent aerospace industry standards, regulatory requirements, and customer expectations. This role leads quality assurance initiatives, drives continuous improvement, and collaborates across departments to maintain excellence in product safety, reliability, and compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with aerospace standards (AS9100, FAA, EASA) and regulatory requirements throughout the production lifecycle; conduct internal and external audits and inspections.
• Lead continuous‑improvement projects using Six Sigma, Lean, or similar methodologies to reduce defects, analyze quality metrics, and implement preventative actions.
• Partner with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain teams to embed quality requirements into design, production, and sourcing; train and mentor quality staff.
• Identify and assess quality‑related risks, lead root‑cause investigations (9S, 5 Whys, FMEA), and drive corrective‑preventive actions (CAPA) to sustain compliance.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality Management or related field (Master’s preferred); Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or Certified Quality Auditor (CQA) required; Six Sigma Black Belt preferred.
• Minimum 10 years of quality‑management experience in a regulated aerospace or defense manufacturing environment, preferably leading multi‑site operations.
• Willingness to travel up to 5 % domestically or internationally; eligible for US employment.

Required skills

• Proficiency with aerospace quality systems (AS9100, ISO 9001), audit practices, and CAPA processes.
• Experience using enterprise QMS tools such as ETQ or MasterControl.
• Knowledge of APQP, PPAP, and advanced product quality planning.
• Strong command of Microsoft Office, SAP, MES, and statistical software (Minitab, JMP).
