Quality Manager – Rotary Drilling Division

About the role

As Quality Manager for Sandvik’s Rotary Drilling Division in Alachua, Florida, you will own the quality function for the rotary blasthole drill assembly operation. Reporting to the VP of Supply Chain & Operations, you will drive product reliability, supplier performance and customer satisfaction across a global product line.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, coach and develop a team of quality professionals, fostering capability and engagement.
• Drive quality performance across incoming, in‑process and final inspection activities.
• Strengthen supplier quality through qualification, performance monitoring and corrective actions.
• Lead structured problem‑solving initiatives (8D, root‑cause analysis) to reduce defects and cost of poor quality.
• Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 and Sandvik’s Quality Management System.
• Partner with Operations, Engineering and Supply Chain to improve process capability and product performance.
• Monitor key metrics such as FPY, COPQ, supplier PPM, rework and warranty trends.
• Support quality standards for fabrication, welding, machining and final assembly.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing or similar).
• 8+ years of manufacturing quality experience in heavy equipment, automotive or industrial settings.
• 5+ years of leadership experience managing quality teams.
• Strong knowledge of complex mechanical assemblies, hydraulics, electrical systems and structural weldments.
• Authorization to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.

Required skills

• Data‑driven decision making using Excel or Power BI.
• Root‑cause analysis methodologies (8D, 5‑Why, Fishbone).
• Metrology and inspection systems.
• Knowledge of welding standards (AWS, ASME).
• ISO 9001 quality management system.
• Six Sigma methodology.
