Quality Manager

About the role

We are looking for a hands‑on Quality Manager to lead and continuously improve our Quality Management System in a precision machine‑shop serving aerospace, medical‑device and industrial customers. The role combines shop‑floor involvement with ownership of inspections, root‑cause analysis, audit readiness and direct communication with customers.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement and maintain a QMS compliant with ISO 9001 and AS9100.
• Lead internal audits, maintain audit readiness and manage document control, procedures and work instructions.
• Oversee incoming, in‑process and final inspections; create inspection plans, control plans and sampling methods.
• Ensure calibration and proper use of inspection equipment; support first‑article inspections and PPAP submissions.
• Lead root‑cause investigations (5 Whys, Fishbone), own the CAPA process and drive closure of non‑conformances.
• Act as primary contact for customer audits and quality issues; collaborate with suppliers to improve their performance.
• Drive continuous‑improvement initiatives to reduce scrap, rework and defects using data‑driven methods.
• Track quality KPIs (PPM, scrap, rework, on‑time delivery) and report performance to leadership.
• Supervise, mentor and train quality inspectors and technicians.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing a QMS in a machine‑shop or precision‑manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of ISO 9001 and/or AS9100 standards.
• Hands‑on inspection experience with gauges and measurement tools.
• Demonstrated ability to conduct root‑cause analysis and manage CAPA.
• Experience with customer audits and supplier quality management preferred.
• Leadership experience supervising small quality teams.
