Quality Lab Supervisor – Lead Lab Operations

About the role

As a Quality Lab Supervisor at 3M you will lead the quality control and wastewater laboratories, ensuring reliable testing, safety compliance, and continuous improvement while supporting production needs.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee quality control and wastewater laboratory operations, including shift scheduling and sample‑testing coordination.
• Lead lab technician training, onboarding, and continuous improvement of training processes.
• Champion safety, environmental compliance, and EHS audit readiness within the lab.
• Identify and support cost‑reduction initiatives and improve labor, material, and equipment utilization.
• Drive continuous improvement through Lean, 5S, Kaizen events and daily lab audits.

Required profile

• High School Diploma/GED (required).
• Minimum three years experience in manufacturing, quality, R&D or laboratory environments.
• Bachelor’s degree in science or engineering (preferred).
• Experience with FDA QSR, ISO standards, or medical product quality systems (preferred).
• Prior supervisory experience of individual contributors (preferred).

Required skills

• Routine laboratory test procedures and equipment validation.
• Measurement systems, testing and calibration knowledge.
• Lean, 5S, Kaizen and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Safety and environmental compliance (EHS) practices.
