Quality Inspector – DoD SkillBridge Program

About the role

Airbus Aerosystems Kinston is seeking a Quality Inspector to join its aerospace manufacturing team through the DoD SkillBridge program. This 180‑day opportunity allows transitioning service members to apply their technical expertise in a high‑precision environment that builds composite structures for the Airbus A350 XWB.

Key responsibilities

• Visually inspect in‑process and completed electronic units, electromechanical assemblies, and composite sub‑assemblies for structural flaws, internal defects, and missing welds.
• Utilize measuring devices such as dial indicators, micrometers, scales, and fixtures to verify dimensions against blueprints, drawings, and inspection checklists.
• Accept or reject parts based on customer specifications and documented quality standards.
• Document non‑conforming materials and perform line clearances after each production lot.
• Support statistical process control and other quality control procedures as required.

Required profile

• Active‑duty service member within 180 days of separation, with written commander authorization (O‑4 or above).
• Current U.S. work authorization.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, CATIA models, and inspection instructions.
