Quality Engineer - Tantalum Capacitor Manufacturing

About the role

Kyocera AvX Tantalum Corporation is looking for a Quality Engineer in Biddeford. The role applies quality tools hands-on to support individuals and teams with quality engineering work for customer and regulatory requirements, including direct work with product and process engineering and with customers.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, update and review documents covering customer requirements and operations
• Maintain compliance with ISO 9001, AS 9100 and ISO 13485 requirements
• Work directly with Product and Process Engineering on root cause analysis and corrective and preventative action plans
• Act as customer interface for questions, concerns and recommendations
• Interface with customers about application and component needs and testing
• Assist in developing and implementing continuous improvement initiatives
• Help staff and managers build systems that meet organizational goals
• Interface with senior management, engineering, plant personnel and vendors to keep projects on schedule
• Summarize progress on development projects in regular reports

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical Engineering preferred)
• Ability to learn the production manufacturing and test processes for tantalum capacitors
• Clear, concise technical writing and presentation skills
• Sound analytical skills, using statistical data to solve problems
• Effective communication at all levels and with customers in a technical way

Required skills

• Computer applications: Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint
• Graphics software; Minitab and IQS are a plus
• C# programming is a plus
