Quality Engineer – General Assembly – Semi Trucks

About the role

The Quality Engineer will support internal and external customers to develop and sustain the quality of Semi‑Truck General Assembly at Tesla's Gigafactory Nevada. The role focuses on risk assessment, quality controls, and continuous improvement to deliver safe, reliable products.

Key responsibilities

• Accountable for quality of incoming components, production quality controls, and assurance.
• Drive cross‑functional teams to meet targets for field reliability, scrap reduction, and first‑pass yield.
• Develop manufacturing requirements, quality standards, and product quality plans.
• Lead FMEA development (design and process) and identify critical requirements.
• Support design reviews, dimensional analysis, statistical tolerancing, and process capability analyses.
• Design experiments (DOE) to investigate alternatives and resolve quality issues.
• Manage root‑cause and corrective‑action processes.
