Quality Control Manufacturing Inspector - 1st Shift

About the role

Moog is seeking a Quality Control Manufacturing Inspector for its 1st‑shift team in Orrville, Ohio. You will work on the shop floor supporting multiple machining cells, ensuring that parts meet strict quality standards and that inspection equipment is properly maintained.

Key responsibilities

• Perform first‑piece inspections and verify operator measurements.
• Conduct hands‑on measurement using micrometers, gauges, and other precision tools.
• Maintain and calibrate Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) and ensure they are clean and operational.
• Assist operators with technical questions, measurement techniques, and inspection guidelines.
• Execute final inspections, review documentation, sample measurements, and complete sign‑offs.
• Document and issue non‑conformances using internal quality software.
• Review batch paperwork and routers for accuracy.
• Support receiving inspection activities and equipment calibration.
• Participate in cross‑functional troubleshooting and problem‑solving.

Required profile

• High School diploma or GED (preferred) with demonstrated ability to follow written and computer work instructions in English.
• At least 5 years of quality experience in a machining‑related manufacturing environment.
• Ability to perform basic arithmetic (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
