Quality Assurance Specialist

About the role

Proper Cloth is seeking a Quality Assurance Specialist to ensure the reliability and performance of its e‑commerce platform and internal tools. Reporting to the Head of Engineering, you will work closely with a small development team to test new features, identify defects, and support internal users.

Key responsibilities

• Test customer‑facing website updates and internal backend tools before production releases.
• Develop and execute test plans for major releases, verifying functionality, usability, and bug‑free operation.
• Identify, isolate, document, and track bugs through resolution using bug‑tracking systems.
• Investigate and document production issues reported by users.
• Provide internal support for employees encountering problems with company tools.
• Collaborate with the Product Manager to refine design specifications prior to development.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience in a technical QA role with a proven track record of finding and documenting defects.
• Hands‑on experience with bug‑tracking and test‑case management tools.
• Comfortable testing complex e‑commerce flows end‑to‑end, including checkout and payment.
• Ability to work calmly under pressure and communicate clearly in written bug reports.

Required skills

• Jira or Linear for bug tracking.
• TestRail or equivalent test‑case management.
• Chrome Developer Tools.
• Basic SQL for data verification.
• Familiarity with test automation frameworks such as Cypress, Playwright, or Selenium (nice to have).
