Qualified Medication Aide (QMA)

About the role

Indiana Treatment Centers, in partnership with Ascension Recovery Services, is seeking Qualified Medication Aides (QMAs) to join the care team at the Muncie, IN facility. As a QMA you will function as a Behavioral Health Technician with medication administration duties, supporting clients in detox and residential levels of care under the supervision of a licensed nurse.

Key responsibilities

• Administer oral, topical and other non‑parenteral medications as delegated by the supervising RN/LPN, following Indiana QMA regulations.
• Document all medication administration accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR).
• Report medication errors, omissions or variances immediately to the supervising nurse.
• Monitor client responses, side effects and adverse reactions and communicate findings.
• Assist with medication counts, secure storage and chain‑of‑custody procedures.
• Support nursing staff with vital signs, patient monitoring and other delegated clinical tasks.
• Maintain a trauma‑informed, safe and therapeutic environment.

Required profile

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Current Indiana Qualified Medication Aide (QMA) certification.
• Completion of CNA certification and a state‑approved 100‑hour QMA course.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (or ability to obtain within 30 days).
• Ability to pass background check and drug screening.
