Qualified Intellectual Disability Professional (QIDP) Educator

About the role

The Texas Health and Human Services Commission seeks a senior‑level QIDP Educator to provide advanced consultative services, onboarding, and ongoing mentorship to Qualified Intellectual Disability Professionals across state‑supported living centers.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive orientation and initial training for newly hired QIDPs.
• Conduct competency‑based assessments, document results, and recommend development actions.
• Provide continuous education, technical assistance, and quality oversight on Individual Support Plans, Person‑Centered Thinking, and integration of behavioral, medical, and support needs.
• Develop, update, and deliver training materials across various topics and settings.
• Ensure program compliance with federal regulations for Intermediate Care Facilities for Individuals with Intellectual Disabilities (ICF/IID).

Required profile

• Advanced experience in disability services and QIDP functions.
• In‑depth knowledge of federal ICF/IID rules and compliance requirements.
• Proven ability to mentor, coach, and evaluate professional performance.
• Strong communication skills for delivering training and technical guidance.
• Full‑time availability for day shift work at the Lufkin State Supported Living Center.
