QA/QC Technician

About the role

The QA/QC Technician will act as the on‑site quality representative for drilling and completions operations, ensuring that tools meet DS‑1, customer, industry and vendor specifications. The role requires a blend of technical inspection, audit activities and clear communication with project teams.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the on‑site QA/QC liaison, delivering quality tools on schedule for drilling and completions.
• Operate in an on‑call environment with two scheduled weekends off per month.
• Monitor and enforce DS‑1®, customer, industry and vendor specifications during inspection, assembly and testing.
• Conduct mill surveillance of drill pipe and casing manufacturing.
• Perform Quality Management System (QMS) reviews and technical audits of rental/specialty tool providers, inspection facilities, machine shops and rig sites.
• Communicate job progress and issues with Project Managers.
• Provide detailed field reports and documentation of findings, actions and technical details.

Required profile

• Technical knowledge of DS‑1, relevant API specifications and industry standards.
• Ability to read, interpret and enforce inspection, assembly and testing procedures.
• Proficiency in reading technical drawings and schematics.
• Experience measuring dimensions with calipers, micrometers and scales (accuracy to 1/64 inch).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Capability to produce detailed technical reports using MS Office (Word, Excel) and incorporate photos and scanned documents.
• Professional email and phone communication with coworkers, vendors and customers.
• Intermediate familiarity with Microsoft Windows and Office applications.
