Purchasing Manager – Materials Management (ETCH/SRP)

About the role

Applied Materials is seeking a Purchasing Manager to lead materials management for the ETCH/SRP segment of its global supply chain. The role is based in Austin, TX and focuses on developing integrated planning processes, supplier relationships, and cost‑effective sourcing strategies.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and manage cross‑functional planning processes that integrate inventory, demand forecasting, and cost elements.
• Analyze customer demand and historical usage to create build‑to‑order and build‑to‑forecast plans.
• Coordinate with production, engineering, and quality teams to ensure on‑time delivery and resolve shortages.
• Establish procurement best practices, monitor material inventories, and drive sourcing strategies for a $2 B annual spend.
• Lead a team of 5‑6 direct reports and represent the materials organization on corporate task forces.

Required profile

• Demonstrated understanding of materials management, supply chain planning, and procurement processes.
• Experience managing budgets, costs, and resources in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to influence cross‑functional teams.
• Proven problem‑solving ability to address technical, operational, and organizational challenges.
