Purchasing Assistant II – Supply (Government)

About the role

The Georgia Department of Public Safety is seeking a Purchasing Assistant II to support its Supply Unit. You will help manage the flow of law‑enforcement equipment, uniforms, and general office supplies while ensuring accurate inventory records.

Key responsibilities

• Receive, store, and issue materials, equipment, and supplies.
• Prepare periodic, special, and perpetual inventories of stock.
• Place materials in proper storage areas and handle manual lifting of items up to 50 lb.
• Provide customer service to department personnel.
• Operate state‑owned vehicles to pick up or deliver materials.
• Perform housekeeping duties, including sweeping and cleaning the warehouse.
• Organize warehouse stock for accessibility and orderliness.

Required profile

• Pass a pre‑employment background investigation (criminal, driver’s, credit).
• Ability to operate a van or medium‑sized box truck.
• Experience with inventory control methods.
• Capability to operate pallet jacks, forklifts, or similar equipment.
