Publications Data Management Intern

About the role

The Publications Data Management Intern will support the MSF Science Portal by maintaining and improving the data that powers the online repository of peer‑reviewed publications, conference presentations and other scientific content. Working part‑time (20 hours/week) in a hybrid setting, the intern will collaborate with the Project Manager to ensure data quality and usability.

Key responsibilities

• Enter, clean, and manipulate data within the content management system and underlying database.
• Organise project workflows and track progress of data‑related tasks.
• Conduct descriptive analyses to support reporting and decision‑making.
• Assist with website enhancements, dashboard creation, and communications planning.
• Support longer‑term initiatives such as data‑quality improvements and platform upgrades.

Required profile

• Current student or recent graduate with a strong interest in data management and medical research.
• Ability to organise workflows and handle multiple tasks efficiently.
• Familiarity with relational databases and basic data‑analysis concepts.
• Knowledge of medical sciences or scholarly publishing is a plus.

Required skills

• Experience with relational databases (e.g., SQL)
