About the role
The Public Safety/Security Officer provides security and safety functions across the University of Arkansas at Little Rock campus, protecting students, faculty, staff, and visitors while safeguarding equipment and property.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct routine checks of campus grounds and buildings to identify unauthorized persons, entry, or property issues.
- Monitor CCTV cameras and alarm systems to detect suspicious activity.
- Provide directions, safety information, and assistance to students, faculty, staff, and visitors.
- Perform foot and vehicle patrols of assigned areas, including the Law School and other facilities.
- Respond to emergencies, remain calm under pressure, and communicate information to Public Safety personnel.
Required profile
- Formal education equivalent to a high school diploma.
- Possession of a valid driver’s license.
- Regular, reliable attendance and ability to work flexible shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
