Public Relations Specialist 2

About the role

Garmin is looking for a full‑time Public Relations Specialist 2 to join its U.S. headquarters in the Greater Kansas City area. You will help raise awareness of Garmin’s consumer‑electronics products by securing editorial coverage across mainstream, trade and digital media.

Key responsibilities

• Communicate with journalists, reviewers, podcasters and YouTube influencers to generate product awareness.
• Develop and write compelling PR pitches, press releases, award applications and company statements.
• Facilitate review and demo units, providing virtual or in‑person product demonstrations.
• Maintain and grow media relationships using database and monitoring tools.
• Coordinate media events, trade‑show activities and special product‑launch events.
• Collaborate with Content Marketing and Corporate Communications to craft news‑worthy stories.
• Travel to industry trade shows and PR events as needed.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Marketing, Communications, Journalism, English or a related field.
• Minimum of 2 years of public‑relations or marketing experience.
• Strong verbal, presentation and writing abilities, with knowledge of AP style.
• Professionalism, sound judgment and integrity.
• Highly organized self‑starter able to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.

Required skills

• Working knowledge of media database and monitoring tools.
• Familiarity with Associated Press style guidelines.
