Public Information Specialist – Digital Content

About the role

The Department of Labor’s Office of Communications is seeking a creative Public Information Specialist to lead digital content efforts. This position will shape the agency’s social media presence, producing engaging multimedia that highlights labor programs and initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Conceptualize, draft, shoot, write, and edit digital content for social media platforms.
• Plan and execute media campaigns, including research, creation, scheduling, and coordination with internal stakeholders.
• Maintain a comprehensive social media content calendar and ensure timely, accurate postings.
• Monitor websites and social channels for trends, performing quality‑assurance checks on all editorial and graphic assets.
• Utilize the content management system to create and modify posts under management direction.
• Support social media strategy execution and use listening tools and analytics to address public concerns.

Required profile

• Six years of experience in public relations, social media, or digital communications.
• Associate’s, bachelor’s, or master’s degree in Communications, English, Public Relations, Social Media, Digital Communications, or a related field.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• Proven ability to produce creative, audience‑engaging content.
• Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is preferred.
