Public Health Advisor

About the role

The Public Health Advisor will support the Global Health Center’s Office of the Director at the CDC, providing technical and administrative leadership for worldwide public‑health initiatives. Based in Atlanta, Georgia, the role collaborates with U.S. and international partners to advance health programs.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical and administrative guidance for global public‑health programs.
• Supervise staff, manage personnel actions, and ensure effective team performance.
• Oversee budget development, fiscal planning, and financial reporting.
• Coordinate program activities with U.S. agencies and international partners, including country‑level deputy directors.
• Develop and deliver programmatic reports, presentations, and correspondence.

Required profile

• One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS‑13 level in the Federal service.
• Knowledge of public‑health program design, implementation, and evaluation in state, local, and international settings.
• Strong oral and written communication skills for briefing diverse audiences.
• Ability to apply administrative and analytical methods within a public‑health framework.
