Propulsion Engineer – Design & Development

About the role

Venus Aerospace is seeking a Propulsion Engineer to design, analyze, and develop propulsion hardware from component parts to complete engine and propellant management systems. The role involves taking concepts through to flight‑ready hardware in a fast‑paced, innovative environment.

Key responsibilities

• Support design, analysis, manufacturing, and testing of propulsion pieces and assemblies.
• Generate CAD models of components and full engine systems, including P&IDs.
• Model, analyze, and design fluid networks, select COTS components, and work with suppliers.
• Develop and execute test plans, analyze results, and contribute to engine balancing and sizing.
• Design and analyze tanks, supporting structures, and propellant‑pressure management systems.
• Collaborate with vehicle engineering, test teams, vendors, and procurement to meet system requirements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in aerospace or mechanical engineering.
• Experience on multidisciplinary project teams and systems engineering.
• Knowledge of aerospace materials and fluid‑system specifications for high‑load applications.
• Strong communication skills for hybrid in‑person/remote work environments.

Required skills

• CAD experience with large assemblies (NX, SolidWorks).
• Simulation tools: ANSYS Mechanical, CFX, StarCCM+.
• Programming/analysis: Matlab, Python.
• Process tools: GFSSP, Microsoft Visio.
• Fluid network modeling and P&ID generation.
• Engine testing and hot‑fire data analysis.
