Property Maintenance Technician

About the role

The Property Maintenance Technician ensures that a multi‑family residential property remains functional, safe, and visually appealing. You will handle routine upkeep, respond to tenant requests, and address any mechanical, electrical, or structural issues that arise.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance such as HVAC filter changes, plumbing inspections, and electrical system checks.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and plumbing problems promptly.
• Repair or replace doors, windows, cabinets, and other wooden fixtures; patch and paint interior surfaces.
• Install or repair flooring materials, including tile, laminate, carpet, or hardwood.
• Maintain exterior areas: lawns, gardens, parking lots, sidewalks, and perform landscaping tasks.
• Clear snow, ice, leaves, and debris from common areas during inclement weather.
• Conduct safety inspections, ensure compliance with building codes and health regulations.
• Maintain accurate records of work orders, repairs, and materials used.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent; vocational or technical training preferred.
• Proven experience in property maintenance, construction, or a related trade.
• Strong knowledge of building systems and maintenance techniques.
• Ability to troubleshoot independently with attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills for interacting with tenants, colleagues, and contractors.
• Physical stamina to perform manual labor in various weather conditions.
• Willingness to participate in an on‑call rotation for emergencies.
