Property Coordinator

About the role

The Property Coordinator is responsible for managing the physical assets, infrastructure, and active habitat maintenance of Duxbury Beach Reservation. This full‑time, on‑site role blends facilities and vehicle management with hands‑on coastal stewardship tasks.

Key responsibilities

• Execute on‑the‑ground ecological and dune maintenance, including invasive species removal, vegetation planting, and monitoring of dune nourishment sites.
• Manage routine facility and asset maintenance for the High Pines building and other DBR structures, coordinating vendors and volunteers.
• Coordinate and oversee external contractors, reviewing contracts, permits, insurance, and tracking project budgets.
• Oversee scheduled maintenance, repairs, inspections, and upkeep of the organization’s vehicle fleet and equipment.
• Support beach access infrastructure, signage fabrication, installation, seasonal storage, and act as the on‑site contact for third‑party events and school field trips.

Required profile

• 3+ years of experience in property management, park maintenance, or hands‑on land stewardship.
• Practical experience with manual invasive species management, plant handling, basic building maintenance, light carpentry, and equipment/vehicle operation.
• Strong interest or knowledge of coastal dune environments and native Massachusetts plant species.
• Ability to work long hours outdoors in variable weather, navigate uneven terrain, and lift up to 50 lb using hand tools.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
