Property Accounting Manager

About the role

Greystar is seeking a Property Accounting Manager to lead its accounting team in applying GAAP standards, analyzing financial data, and delivering accurate financial reports for its extensive real‑estate portfolio. This remote position reports to senior finance leadership and supports property owners, managers, and business partners.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise a team of accountants, handling recruitment, onboarding, training, and performance management.
• Set annual goals, design workflows, and assign property portfolios to ensure timely and accurate financial processing.
• Review and approve journal entries, budgets, revenue, expense, payroll, invoices, mortgage payments, and other accounting documents.
• Oversee bank reconciliations, wire transfers, and ensure accuracy of cash movements.
• Develop and implement accounting control procedures, monitor revenue and expense trends, and recommend budget adjustments.
• Act as liaison with internal and external auditors, providing documentation and explanations for audit queries.
• Respond to owners, property managers, and business leaders with financial statements, reports, and budget updates.

Required profile

• Proven experience supervising accounting staff in a real‑estate or property‑management environment.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and property accounting practices.
• Demonstrated ability to improve processes, increase productivity, and maintain high service quality.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
