Project Superintendent – Construction

About the role

The Project Superintendent will lead all on‑site construction activities for deep‑foundation projects in the New York metropolitan area, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, design specifications, budget, and schedule. Reporting to the General Superintendent or Project Manager, this role oversees trade groups and manages daily operations.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise total construction effort to meet safety, design, budget, and schedule requirements.
• Manage craft employees and subcontractors, providing technical assistance such as drawing interpretation and equipment recommendations.
• Develop and enforce project procedures, standards, and documentation.
• Monitor on‑site personnel compliance with safety programs and work rules, documenting violations.
• Drive productivity of trades, efficient use of materials and equipment, and overall contractual performance.
• Resolve construction problems, coordinate with unions, and handle jurisdictional disputes.
• Support EHS and Quality policies, ensuring OSHA regulations are met.
• Perform additional assignments as directed by the Project Manager.

Required profile

• 4‑year engineering degree or equivalent technical training/experience.
• 8+ years supervisory experience in deep foundations, heavy civil, or heavy construction.
• Demonstrated expertise in Secant Piles and/or Drilled Shaft construction methods.
• Proven ability to manage field crews, equipment, schedules, and safety programs.
• Strong ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications, and geotechnical reports.
• Advanced knowledge of construction scheduling and cost control.
• OSHA 30‑Hour Construction Training and First‑Aid/CPR certification.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, analytical, and organizational skills.
