About the role

Applied Materials is seeking a Project Status Manager (B3) to oversee project and program objectives, ensuring effective planning, resource utilization, and timely delivery within its semiconductor equipment division in Santa Clara.

Key responsibilities

• Define project and program objectives, including outcomes, milestones, viability studies, and resource planning.
• Ensure projects meet product/process specifications, cost targets, resource utilization, and schedule requirements.
• Document all phases of project, program, and process development and disseminate information to functional areas.
• Maintain compliance with company policies on engineering notebooks, patents, confidentiality, and safety.
• Manage material and financial resources efficiently and collaborate with staff to maximize productivity.

• Demonstrates conceptual and practical expertise in own discipline and basic knowledge of related fields.
• Understands best practices, market competition, and integration of own area with others.
• Acts as a resource for less‑experienced colleagues and may lead small projects.
• Solves complex problems using judgment from multiple information sources.

• Communicates difficult information clearly and builds consensus.

Required skills

• Use of hand and power tools.
• Proper use of clean‑room personal protective equipment (coveralls, hoods, booties, safety glasses, gloves, respirators).
