Project Manager with P&C background in Insurance

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Project Manager with a Property & Casualty (P&C) insurance background to lead IT initiatives from initiation through delivery. The role involves managing multiple concurrent projects, coordinating matrixed teams, and ensuring alignment with portfolio and project management standards.

Key responsibilities

• Lead 3+ IT projects simultaneously, covering implementation/customization of insurance applications, mobile/web solutions, system integrations, software upgrades, RPA and hardware infrastructure.
• Build and maintain detailed project schedules in MS Project/Project Server using effort‑driven, auto‑scheduled methods.
• Reconcile team time‑cards and financials, track budgets, resolve variances, and manage funding requests.
• Identify, monitor, and mitigate risks, issues, assumptions and decisions, escalating as needed.
• Prepare and deliver twice‑monthly status reports to sponsors, stakeholders and portfolio managers.
• Manage vendor relationships, create and execute Statements of Work, and ensure adherence to PPM processes and templates.

Required profile

• 5–7+ years of recent project management experience delivering IT projects with budgets of at least $150K.
• Proven ability to deliver projects from start to finish, with strong planning, execution, monitoring and control skills.
• Demonstrated leadership, executive presence and stakeholder management under pressure.
• Excellent communication, customer focus and sound judgment in decision‑making.
• Willingness to develop technical understanding of systems, data flows and architecture.
