Project Manager – New Product Introduction

About the role

3M is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead New Product Introduction (NPI) initiatives across its manufacturing and product development portfolio. You will collaborate with cross‑functional teams worldwide, applying the company’s NPI process to bring innovative products to market on schedule.

Key responsibilities

• Lead cross‑functional NPI project teams from concept through launch, defining scope, milestones, and gate reviews.
• Manage project schedules, cycle times, and on‑time launch targets using established project management tools.
• Mentor and coach new team members, local management, and stakeholders; deliver training on project leadership methodologies.
• Present project status and outcomes to internal and external audiences.
• Maintain functional expertise in technical, marketing, or sales domains to support project decisions.
• Produce project documentation, reports, and presentations as required.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree (or higher) completed prior to start.
• Eight (8) years of experience in manufacturing, product engineering, or product development within private, public, government, or military environments.
• At least three (3) years of proven project leadership experience.
• Experience leading hard‑goods and software‑related new product development projects is a plus.

Required skills

• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
• Six Sigma methodologies (DMAIC) and Design for Six Sigma (DFSS).
• Proficiency with New Product Introduction (NPI) processes and associated project management tools.
