Project Manager Modernization

About the role

Schindler is seeking a Project Manager Modernization to lead elevator installation and modernization projects in New Orleans. You will act as the primary liaison between sales, customers, engineering, and field teams to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Manage new installation and modernization projects from booking to close‑out, meeting efficiency and profitability targets.
• Review project awards within one week, flagging any potential schedule issues and proposing action plans.
• Coordinate submittals with engineering and vendors, ensuring all materials are on site before the start date.
• Track job progress with the Field Superintendent and communicate any risks to management.
• Identify change order opportunities, prepare documentation, and obtain signed approvals before work begins.
• Ensure timely invoicing and achieve at least 90% payment before elevator turnover.
• Participate in professional development programs to deepen product and service knowledge.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Minimum five years of experience in the elevator industry or a related building‑systems field.
• Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
