Project Manager - Environmental & Energy

About the role

Atwell, LLC, a consulting, engineering and construction firm serving real estate, land development and energy markets, is hiring a Project Manager for environmental and energy projects. The role acts as project manager and technical lead on natural resource management and renewable energy projects, writing and managing proposals and managing several projects at once.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review technical documents such as wetland and WOTUS delineation reports and RTE species reports
• Prepare and review permit applications for wetlands, WOTUS impacts and RTE species under local, state and federal guidelines
• Review field data and reports for natural resource assessments and RTE
• Lead projects and write and manage scope, schedule and fee proposals
• Manage budgets, schedules, quality of service and subcontractors across multiple projects
• Collaborate with clients and management, develop project proposals and establish project objectives
• Engage, mentor and support field teams, and set up an annual project plan

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in environmental science, biology, ecology, geology, engineering, planning or a related physical science
• 8+ years leading wetland and RTE species permitting and consulting in the eastern US
• 5+ years managing environmental tasks on DG or utility-scale solar and storage projects in the eastern US
• Experience with wetland delineations, function and value assessments, vernal pool surveys, wildlife habitat assessments and restoration designs
• Experience with Clean Water Act Section 404/401 permits, environmental investigations and desktop due diligence
• Preferred: Master's degree, experience with CPCN projects in Maryland, data center or transmission projects, and GIS data analysis and mapping
