Project Manager – Construction & Permitting

About the role

UES is seeking a Project Manager to lead multiple concurrent projects across its geotechnical and environmental service lines. The role involves coordinating all phases from pre‑construction estimation through final closeout while ensuring safety, schedule, and budget compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain seamless communication with clients, owners, contractors, and municipal stakeholders.
• Lead the full lifecycle of projects, from pre‑construction and permit acquisition to on‑site execution and closeout.
• Attend pre‑construction and on‑site meetings to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Obtain and process client documents for permit applications and act as primary liaison with municipalities.
• Prepare and submit permit applications to relevant agencies and track approvals.
• Supervise field inspections or testing as needed.
• Review departmental plans for accuracy and correct revision dates.
• Submit, distribute, and file all permit‑related paperwork and maintain organized project files.
• Monitor project milestones, deliverables, and financial performance, implementing corrective actions when variances arise.
• Foster strong relationships with municipal authorities to expedite permit processing.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related technical discipline, OR 7–10+ years of relevant industry experience for non‑degree candidates.
• Certifications in relevant inspection or testing areas are preferred.
• Strong knowledge of industry standards such as ASTM and AASHTO and ability to interpret technical specifications.
• Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Familiarity with ASTM standards.
• Familiarity with AASHTO standards.
